Billiards And Barstools

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Do you want to know more about billiards and barstools? If so, the first thing you must know is that both go hand in hand. Trying to create the ‘ultimate’ game room for pool would mean that you’d need to have billiards and barstools as your main items. However, there are also other items that need to be added into the whole process.

Forget about billiards and barstools for now and try to focus on the ambience first. This is what will grab the attention of the clients, especially if you trying to create the ‘ultimate’ game room for a club. The color code that you select may vary according to the likes and dislikes of each person. But the basis remains that a two-toned color scheme will suit best.

You could also add a little fun to this and try to match one of your favorite colors selected from a sports team that you like, your high school colors or anything that caught your eye. Always make sure the darker color remains the border color and the lighter shade becomes your main wall color. This will look nice especially when you add the billiards and barstools with the posters and other cool signs you like.

The next thing to consider would be the flooring. For this, you could use either hardwood or choose from a range of floorings such as cork, carpet tiling, vinyl, ceramic tiling, etc.

Next in line will be the billiards and barstools which comes under the category of furniture and other items. Depending on the theme you are trying to create, make sure the billiards and barstools match everything in it. For instance, trying to create a Hawaiian effect would need you to have billiards and barstools made out of wicker or rattan.

Once the billiards and barstools have been purchased, next thing you must do is get the perfect lighting. A sports theme would be perfect with pub lamps, floor lamps or swag lights used. Bamboo lamps and hanging lanterns would be much suitable for an Asian theme.

Having the perfect music will entertain your guests for a very long time. A jukebox would set the mood for this. Additionally, you could put up some neon signs with a few posters to augment the whole setting.

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

The billiards getting more and more popular, so a lot of people searching for billiard accessories and billiard instructions.
A person who is in love with the game of pool will always tell you that having the right set of equipment for it is what helps in the performance of every player. The billiards pool table, the billiard balls, the billiard cues; all play a major role in the performance of a player in the game of pool. The billiards pool table is the main thing we will be talking about here so let’s have a closer look at how one can select the best type of billiards pool table for their game.

Before getting a billiards pool table, you will have to measure the room you are going to put it in. Will it be enough for the billiards pool table? What about the players who will be in the room? Will they have enough space to move around with a huge billiards pool table in the middle? Having an idea about this is beneficial before purchasing a pool table.

The standard sizes for a billiards pool table can range from 7 to 9 foot measurements. The 7 foot table might seem too small for a club. If you are looking for a billiards pool table for a home games room, the 8 foot one would be ideal. Larger areas will be able to accommodate a 9 foot billiards pool table.

Once the above has been negotiated, the next step should be about the lighting facilities. The game of pool requires one to have lighting placed directly above the billiards pool table, in a central position. Having pool table lights hanging from the ceiling will prevent shadows being cast across the surface of the pool table.

When it comes to the felt color of the billiards pool table, the traditional colors known by most players have been the green and sometimes blue. But recently, individuals have been using different shades of colors to match their billiards game room.

Experts say that the finish of a billiards pool table says a lot about it. This must be the reason why some people spend hundreds of dollars on it. Hardwood can give one of the best finishes, whilst the more traditional look could be achieved by the use of oak, cherry or walnut.

Another thing that most pool players will focus on is the material used for the bed of the billiards pool table. This is situated beneath the table and is usually made from wood, slate or sometimes by using a synthetic material.

Our Game – Proper Use Of Billiards Rack

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Billiards play is greatly popular as a good billiards game gives joy and fun and can be sort of opportunity for socializing. The billiards has different tools and good to know how to use them correctly, for example the rack…
A billiards rack is a frame usually made of plastic or wood that is used to organize billiard balls at the beginning of a game. A triangular shaped billiards rack is used for eight-ball, straight pool, one-pocket, snooker, bank pool and many other games.. Each game has various conventions for racking.

Near the foul spot of the pool table, place one corner of the billiards rack. This corner is referred to as the apex. The proper position to place the racked balls is marked by the foul mark which is a small marking. It is traditional to put the yellow 1 ball at the apex for eight-ball game whilst the rest of the balls may be placed in any order except for the 8 ball which has to be placed at the center. Amateur competitions place the balls with solid and striped alternatives at the rack. Make sure to push the billiards rack so that the ball at the apex is on the foul mark and that the side that is opposite the apex is close to the end of the table and parallel to it too. It is important that the balls are packed tightly together or when the break shot is made they will not break properly. Push the balls toward the apex with the tips of your fingers so they are packed tightly.

Depending on the game the order of the balls in the billiards rack varies although the steps to racking the balls are the same. Such as for straight pool the 1 ball is placed at the right corner and the 5 ball is placed at the left corner. The rest of the balls may be in any order. Where a game of bank pool and one ball is played the billards rack can be placed at random.

Even though a diamond-shaped billiards rack is used for the game of nine-ball, the triangular shaped billiards rack can be used and most of the time is during a nine-ball game. The difference with diamond shaped racks are that one of the two corners will be placed as the apex while the other corner will point at the table closest to its end. Remember to place ball 1 at the apex for a game of nine ball billiard because it is expected that the cue ball hits on the lowest numbered ball on the table on each shot. It really doesnt matter how the other balls are placed, though.
